Experience Design | Cooper Hewitt x Smack Mellon

The original label copies at the Designing peace exhibit at Cooper Hewitt used bright colours, we decided to stick to that colour palette and extend while redesigning the exhibition.
Each design prompt and responses is represented through this colour palette in the exhibition.

EXHIBITION FLOW

The conflict kitchen as an entity serves food from countries with which the United States in in conflict. Their current focus is on the food, culture and politics of Iran. This was one of the main highlights of the "Designing with Peace" exhibit at the Cooper Hewitt. In order to draw more attention to this cause, we installed a food truck in partnership with The Dumbo Improvement District outside the exhibition where people can actually experience the Iranian food ad culture.

Smack Mellon is an art gallery and we wanted to have art pieces that bridge the line between art and design and also provoke dialogue amongst the visitors.

Installation of the interactive teeter - totter wall from the Mexico along with sound cones hanging from the ceiling that play testimonies of people when you stand beneath them.

The boat consists of projections of the peace posters that are designed by the visitors and also has the Rivers of Light installation from the Christmas Operations Campaigns which will glow when two people from the opposite sides of the boat happen to touch them at the same time.
